| Introduction | Welcome to my blog. I am an artist working in encaustic which is beeswax and resin, a most lovely medium which combines a wonderful aroma and a complex tactile feel in it's many stages of preparation and finish. I live on a narrow spit of land that is surrounded by the water of the Pacific Ocean and the gentle tides of Willipa Bay. Willipa Bay Wildlife Refuge is nearby and the thousands of birds that live on or fly over provide a constant overwhelming inspiration. I moved to this rural place and can't now think why I lived anywhere else. I love the rain and the fog and the wind that lives here on the edge of the world. It shapes my rough and primitive visions.
