| Introduction | I am a born-again Christian whose daughter married a Muslim, and later converted. I read several books which quoted the Koran in order to learn more about Islam. In order to verify the verses were not being taken out of context, I wanted to read them within the passages themselves. Anyone concerned about accurate Biblical exegesis should show the same consideration for someone else's holy book. The version quoted is purported by them to be the most respected and accurate of the translations. I use it since I do not know Arabic. I use the King James version of the Bible. In the process, the Lord directed me to read the whole thing. I did not really want to, so I can understand if some might feel weird reading some passages of the Bible. Finally, as I got into it, I discovered the story of the Christians and others who opposed Mohammed jumping out at me. I realized mine was not the first family to face this division. And it inspired me, making finishing it easier. I am now rereading it and am recording my thoughts as I go, as well as cannabalizing old notes and musings. |
