| Introduction | "Painting a day" -has become a new phenomenon embraced by artists worldwide. Sizes for these paintings are typically small and often start at $100. Weekly paintings instead of daily paintings fit my schedule as an antique dealer, mom, and painter. I started creating a painting once a week a couple of years ago in preparation for my retirement. Lu Mil Vineyard in Elizabethtown, North Carolina, hosted my first show and sale which turned out to be more successful than I anticipated. I sold 18 paintings and received 12 commissions within one week. With the success of my first show, additional commissions keep trickling in and keep me from creating a painting once a week. Nevertheless, I still paint every day almost and post the finished paintings when they're done, each commission takes weeks or months to complete. I taught visual art for 29 years, and as my retirement continues, I plan to be the student, I want to be a life-long learner and explore art and painting techniques. Check my blog weekly and contact me if you are interested in purchasing my work. Kathy Bunn |
