Delightfully Healthy

About me

Introduction I’ve always considered myself healthy, but I decided to learn more about nutrition and health after a sudden series of health crises. After a physical, my doctor prescribed folic acid because she found that I was at risk for heart disease. "But don't worry," she said. It's no big deal." Then I was diagnosed with Acid Reflux, then IBS. I was worried. I had come to New York with an MFA, ready to take the theatrical world by storm. Now, six years later, I was calling myself an actor and a playwright, but working a "day job," waiting for my real life to begin. And now I was falling apart! One day I woke up and realized that this was my life, and it was just flying by unattended. I had to do something. I decided to go back to school. Now I’m a Board Certified Holistic Health Counselor and Reiki Master, and a member of the American Association of Drugless Practitioners. In addition to my private practice, I teach lectures, workshops, and group programs and act as the Senior Editor of Delightfully Healthy News. I have my own blog (http://tiny-url.org/DHBlog814), and I contribute to The Mindful Eater (www.themindfuleater.com), a holistic foodie blog. Oh, and I knit, too!
