Introduction	Born in “the Valley” town of Harlingen, Texas, I was raised in the complex world of Chicano identity. This world is now the fuel for my creative journey. My art focuses on my family’s experience as migrant farm workers and the day-to-day happenings that have shaped my sense of self. I aim to achieve a “cultural reconnect” through images representing the struggles and celebrations of Chicano life. I have come to view the process of creation as a manifestation of internal emotion, stored memories, pertinent socio-political issues and the disparities surrounding my community. I have come to realize my work as a body that narrates my autobiography through visual translation. In addition, the work seeks to also tell the stories of my ancestors, my elders, my peers and my community. I have come to understand myself as a visual storyteller.
