Introduction I split my time between the Blue Ridge Mountains of western North Carolina, and Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia. After a 20+ year career in marketing, sales, and PR, I started writing for pleasure, contributing articles to newspaper travel sections and sailing magazines. Then I switched to fiction, publishing short stories and creative non-fiction online and in anthologies. In 2010, a side interest in jewelry design took hold and I found myself exchanging the linear art of the written word for the playful art of creating necklaces, earrings, and bracelets as wardrobe accessories. Files with drafts and finished stories have now been replaced by clear boxes of colorful glass beads and polished stones. I dig for treasure at thrift stores and vintage shops, and hunt old jewelry boxes at auctions, searching for unique pieces to repurpose into one-of-a-kind accessories. I have established a home base for creative projects in a corner cubbyhole inside my husband’s 2,000 square foot hot-rod workshop, and participate in local craft shows and village markets. I’m exploring all the creative things I've never done but have always wanted to try.
