Introduction In 2011, I loved my job. As a health program specialist I visited senior centers in upstate New York to give little talks on nutrition topics. I also co-lead falls prevention classes and diabetes self-management classes. Although I loved engaging with participants, I still felt unfulfilled. So, I left New York to pursue a PhD in public health. Now, I'm researching psychological predictors of weight gain among mid-age New Zealand women. I'll see if psychological flexibility, mindfulness and intuitive eating are associated with weight change. If so, I'll target these factors in an online weight gain prevention intervention for mid-age New Zealand women.
