About me

Occupation Homemaker
Location Missouri Ozarks, United States
Introduction I am a hill witch who focuses on the elements, folk magic and the old gods while working to harness the creative forces of the universe. My blood runs red but the waters of my soul are green.
Interests neopaganism, folk magic-especially hoodoo, ancient history, archaeology, gardening, animals, herbal studies, entheology, arts and crafts, digital photography, tattoos, music
Favorite Movies Lord of the Rings, The Big Lebowski, O Brother Where Art Thou?, The Witches of Eastwick, Dogma, Monty Python and the Holy Grail, Life of Brian, Clue, Signs, The Village, The Lady in the Water, Nightmare Before Christmas, Sleepy Hollow, Beetle Juice, Big Fish, The Dark Crystal, Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, live music DVDs of Marley, Queens, Zeppelin, stand-up comedy like Carlin, etc.
Favorite Music I'm primarily a rock n' roll girl. Classic stuff: The obvious greats are favorites; Led Zeppelin, Jimi Hendrix, Pink Floyd, The Beatles, The Doors. Janis Joplin is a goddess! She has recently led me to Etta James. I also like The Eagles, Fleetwood Mac, CCR, Jethro Tull, The Guess Who, Simon & Garfunkel, ELO, America, Jim Croce, James Taylor, Donovan, Mama Cass, Grateful Dead, Bob Seger, Billy Joel, Elton John, Steve Miller Band, Heart, Bob Marley and many others. Recent stuff: TOOL, A Perfect Circle, Weezer, Live, Black Crowes, Queens of the Stone Age, Beck, Sigur Ros, Muse, The White Stripes, The Raconteurs, The Killers, Snow Patrol, Radiohead, Tori Amos, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Gossip, Fiona Apple, K's Choice, Sarah McLachlan, Sarah Brightman, Alison Krauss, Nickel Creek, and Dave Matthews Band to name a few. I like a little classical: Mozart, Beethoven, Bach, Pachelbel, the hymns of Hildegard von Bingen and a few others. I strongly dislike most country, opera and rap and have no use for most pop or dance/club music. Lately I've been trying to learn about pagan music; I figure I've been pagan for ten years so it's about time. So far the pagan standouts are Damh the Bard and S.J. Tucker.
Favorite Books If I'm gonna read fiction, which I don't often do, it'll be Anne Rice (pre-conversion), Tolkien, C.S. Lewis, Heinlein, L'Engle, etc. Otherwise I'm reading ancient history and archaeology texts. I like to read quality neopaganism-related books but as they are so hard to find amongst the masses of crap put out these days I haven't read any new stuff in a long time. I also love to read folk tales, fairy tales and mythology.
