Introduction	Since his election to the Atlanta City Council in 2001 to serve as the Post 3 At-Large Councilmember, H. Lamar is currently the youngest member of the legislative body of the City of Atlanta government. Willis is currently serving his second term on council, having been re-elected without opposition in 2005. Some of Councilman Willis' legislative accomplishments are: • In 2007, H. Lamar authored legislation to create the Citizen Review Board to allow citizens more input into police matters. • In 2004, H. Lamar authored legislation requiring a 30-day holding periods for all pawnbroker and precious metal dealer transactions to allow sufficient time for the police to track down stolen goods that may have gone through a pawnbroker. It is his strong training and deep roots in the city that inspires H. Lamar to seek all means of creating a better Atlanta. Some of his recent honors include: • Named one of the 100 Most Influential Georgians by Georgia Trend Magazine, 2006 • Participation as a delegate to South America (Argentina and Uruguay) with the American Council of Young Political Leaders.
