| Introduction | I am one of the few, the proud, that can say that I LOVE my work! Currently, I work in Connecticut as a Vision Rehabilitation Therapist (VRT). I also work as the Educational Projects Coordinator and do transition work. Prior to being a VRT, I was a deafblind teacher for 4 years and an early intervention/developmental specialist for children who have vision impairments as well as children of other disabilities. I have always been in the field of vision impairment. It's a huge passion in my life! How did I get started in the field? I was raised by a single mom who has total vision loss. I have grown up talking, describing and tactually experiencing the world since I was a kid. I believe that vision impairment is not about what people don't see but about what they do. Vision does not determine what one can or cannot do. |
