Introduction A pharmacist, so ancient he remembers the sights, sounds and smells of extemporaneous dispensing and how to do it.Who is still courteous in the face of the most brazen challenges. So pompous he is able to wear down the most energetic of enthusiasts. So talented that he has been able to withstand almost four decades of professional service in various arenas of pharmacy practice without ever having to do more work than has been necessary for relieving the public and successive employers of significant amounts of money. So unutterably cynical that nothing phases his thought processes or disrupts the time-space continuum of his being. He cares nothing for the pretensions individuals or institutions and his only despair is the coarse language utilised by the current generations of the disaffected. Is there no hope for linguistic elegance in these dark and troubled times ?
Interests Port. Stout. Edwardian cuisine. A fine day at the Dog stadium or Horses. Staring fondly at a photograph of the late Mrs N and wishing she were here to maintain my respectability.
Favorite Movies Anything accompanied by a pianoforte.
Favorite Music Military and swing bands. The rustling of a successful betting slip in my hands as I approach my local branch of Ladbrokes.
Favorite Books My former blog entitled " A Bitter Pill" which I discontinued in a fit of pique one rainy afternoon subsequent to a particularly nasty encounter with a physician. I [ being a technophobe ] had posted a somewhat vehement riposte to an "initiative" being foisted on our noble profession by that Whore of Babylon which goes forth under the soubriquet of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society of Great Britain and in my distress over the aforementioned physician in combination with the Whore, managed to delete the whole shooting match. I have never recovered the courage or the desire to rise above my self centred ennui and re-publish. Should I be petitioned to do so, I might be convinced. Where's my port?
