| Introduction | While travelling in Europe, we found that people around the world knew two things about Dallas--the Kennedy assassination and the TV show Dallas. For years, we've been wishing someone would spread the word about the other Dallas--what we think of as "real" Dallas--populated by artists, liberals, activists, women who look nothing like the Hollywood version of a Dallasite, and men who have neither oil wells nor guns.
