Introduction I spent many years with Starbucks as a Barista on the front line and as a Store Manager. Spent 1 very long year as a retail bank manager. And the most recent 5 years of my life with the YMCA in both Indianapolis and Houston. Service is a common thread in every organization. Some get it and do it well, some hide behind policies and rule books and don't realize the impact they are having on their long term viability as a company. I use this space as a venue to discuss and give kudos to those organizations who "get it" and to sometimes provide a sounding board for those who don't, but will always remain professional. I hope this space will eventually grow into a resource for those looking to understand what goes into great service and how to deliver that service to your employees, customers, members, and clients.
