| Introduction | Lorinda Lindsay and Priya Subramanian are two chicks who really like to cook. We are attorneys by trade but cooks by passion. Lorinda's love affair with food began as a child while spending summers at her grandparents’ farm where they had pecan trees, pear trees and a huge vegetable garden. There she learned about baking pies, canning and preserving food. As an adult, she’s traveled through the Caribbean and Mexico and fell in love with that cuisine. Priya is a foodie living in Toronto,Canada who grew up eating Indian food and would often go to her Punjabi girlfriend's house and gorge on rajma and roti, and loved eating her Serbian Aunt's "Sarma" (cabbage rolls). She fell in love with the delicious simplicity of American soul food when she worked and went to school in Detroit. As she traveled, she was able to expand her palate and started seeking out "street meat" in various parts of the world. She has a penchant for dives and truck stops (they have the best home cooked food for rock bottom prices!). We want this site to mirror our love for great food and we would like to share our cooking tips as we challenge our way through difficult and often intimidating recipes. |
