Introduction At a young age, Joel Scott Davis has already made a name for himself as a composer, arranger, and teacher. His compositions have been widely performed at such esteemed venues as Carnegie Hall, and his film scores have been featured in numerous film festivals and television and Internet broadcasts. Critics such as Michael Huebner of The Birmingham News have praised his music for its “honest beauty,” while others have lauded its balance of “craftsmanship, sincerity, and musical imagination.” Most recently, he has completed his Doctoral studies in music composition at Claremont Graduate University, where he served as a Teaching Assistant to Grammy-nominated composer Peter Boyer. Previous teachers include: Edward David Zeliff, James A. Jensen, and Rebecca Remley. In May of 2011, Davis was appointed Assistant Professor of Composition at The Master’s College in Santa Clarita, California.
