| Introduction | I am currently Technology Integrationist and Coach at ACS Egham International School since 2012. I am also an Apple Distinguished Educator. Prior to that I have been teaching IT in the UK since 2001. I have always been interested in different types of classroom technology and showing students how to use technology in their day to day learning. Since 2012 we have introduced a 1-1 iPad programme in our school and my role encompasses the coaching and mentoring of colleagues and integrating mobile technology into the classroom. The 1-1 iPad programme has revolutionised teaching and learning in our school and the reason for this blog is to show teachers how to engage with students without reinventing the wheel. The main aim is to show the kind of work students are producing with the use of this technology and how as educators we are getting them ready for the future on many different fronts. As a school we encourage our students to be inquisitive, innovative and teach them about the importance of digital citizenship and responsibility to become well informed global online citizens. For me personally we need to Trust our students to get the best out of them. |
