| Introduction | My parents emigrated from Iran in the 60's to Milan where I was born.4 years later,we moved to L.A. I received a BFA in Film at NYU.I dabbled in a slew of different jobs. I worked as a grip, an asst.to the top agent at ICM. She made me cry my first day. A stylist and a set decorator on low budget features and commercials.I eagerly left it all behind when I spontaneously moved to Brazil in 1998.I lived in Sao Paulo,where I taught English to high profile CEO’s.One day I was held at gunpoint.They took $6.00 bucks and my only jacket.Days later,I moved to a hip beach town called Buzios.I rented a rustic two story house a stones throw from the beach.I earned a $100.00 a month teaching English at dilapidated preschool. I had a super young,sexy, surfer boyfriend,who spoke maybe 6 words of English. I pinched myself daily. Summer ended,the crowds left and I realized that,I missed my friends,family, speaking English, my car,a home phone and most of all my dog Ziggy. It was time to go home. |
