Introduction For over 20 years, I've been involved in creating a wide variety of projects for various television and feature film companies throughout the US and abroad. I also spend a lot of my time launching characters and concepts in the comic book marketplace, working hand-in-hand with a number of main-stream publishers who specialize in graphic storytelling. Specific credits can be found here... www.edpolgardy.com ...or, for samples of some of the intellectual properties I currently have in development, you can vist my company web site... www.fotocomics.net or www.cinemagraphix.com
Interests Reading & Writing Books & Screenplays, Creating Comix, Watching & Making Movies, My DVD Collection, Directing Actors, Visualizing & Setting up Shots, Staying Fit, Hiking, Boxing, Aerobic Activities, Discovering Historic LA Locations, Having Legendary Adventures with Famous Friends, Aerospace Engineering (Do you really believe that last one?).
Favorite Movies I go to the movies on a regular basis and enjoy everything from indie art films to multi-million-dollar blockbusters, but I have a real soft spot for the old classics... Warner Bros. Gangster Pictures. Most of the Black & White Film Noirs. All of the Universal Monster Movies. Serial Cliffhangers. Euro Horror. Suspense Pictures. Anything by Michael Curtiz. Mario Bava (check out "Four Times that Night" for an unsung comedy by "the maestro"). Edwige Fenech (French Goddess) Monica Bellucci (Italian Goddess.) Soledad Miranda (Not French OR Italian, but still a Godess) Maria Bello (Check out "The Cooler", plus she's from Norristown, PA, which is close to my own hometown). Quirky love stories (like "Say Anything" or "Garden State"). P.T.Anderson (especially "Boogie Nights") Ridley Scott (Yes, I'm a closet sci-fi/noir geek, and I love "Blade Runner") Romero ("Martin"). Cronenberg. ("History of Violence") Carpenter ("Halloween" & "The Fog"; original version only, please). Early Argento ("Susperia" totally freaked me out when I was a kid). Some Fulci (I love "The Beyond"). Eastwood (IMHO "Unforgiven" is the best western of all time.) Sergio Leone (The long version of "Once Upon a Time in America"...INCREDIBLE) Anything by Robert Aldrich ("Yard", "Dozen", "Baby Jane"..."Emperor of the North" rules.) Quentin ("Dogs", "Pulp" & "Bill"). Rodriguez (For pushing the envelope & busting his balls on everything he touches). Badham's "Fever". Robert Ryan ("The Set Up"). Paul Newman ("The Hustler") Robert Shaw ("The Sting"). And so forth, and so on... Oh... let's not forget the silents (has anyone seen the restored version of "Metropolis"? Wow.). I could go on forever, you know...
