| Introduction | Eleanor was a Salvation Army officer for thirty years in Canada and France. She also worked for Opportunity International Canada. She is passionate about serving the poor and making a difference in the lives of women and children especially. Eleanor is an award-winning author. Her story in Hot Apple Cider won an Award of Merit in 2009. In 2011 her book, More Questions than Answers, Sharing Faith by Listening won The Word Guild Award in the Christian Leadership category. Christianity Today gave the book a four star rating. In 2012 she won Short Feature award for her article in Breakthrough magazine. In 2018 her story won in Christmas with Hot Apple Cider. Along with her husband Glen, who is currently the Business Administrator for The Salvation Army in Quebec, Eleanor has two adult children. John, works on developing programs for people with spinal cord injuries and is presently pursuing a PhD in Rehabilitation Therapy. Elizabeth is a professional jazz musician with four Juno and Polaris nominations. Eleanor and Glen are grandparents to Sanna and Alma Hultqvist-Shepherd. |
