Introduction	Formerly an English teacher, I am currently a real estate agent and a full-time wife and mother. Our family doesn't eat out very often, so I cook frequently. Sometimes, change is good, sometimes, I just want familiar comfort food. I was raised without cable TV in the 80's, so part of the way my mom entertained me and my siblings was to have us in the kitchen with her. Perhaps it was her secret way of keeping us from fighting with one another. Whatever her reasons, she was successful. She was successful in teaching us to make basic meals, to choose produce that was properly ripened and to try whatever is put in front of you. The later one helped during my year-long missions term in West Africa. It was there that I ate my first (and last) fish head and bush rat. Now, I am continuing the food legacy by having my 2 little ones in the kitchen (if only for a short time) while I prepare meals.
