IntroductionDespite the exact science behind the perfume industry and its demystification using names of ingredients like Iso-E Super, fragrance remains a whimsical touch that transports us to other times in our lives or to other places! The current formulations have been truly watered down by comparison to the heady mid 20th Century ones. There were many theories to that effect: 1- Our sense of smell has evolved in our current "hygienic society" and can no longer tolerate the "dirty skanky" scents that were loved in that era. 2- IFRA is concerned about human subjects' well being and has requested the removal of all potential allergens from fragrances. Can one really live in a bubble?! I doubt that very much... 3- I personally think the manufacturers are happy to create and reformulate scents that need to be reapplied every 2-3 hours. Have you seen the fragrances prices lately? Especially those so-called "Niche"!!! More power (and income) to you L'Oreal and P&G...
InterestsDrawn to nice scents at a very young age. An expert in Wellness, Nutrition, Human Biology and Scent. Started collecting perfume a little after Shiseido's Feminite' du Bois was created. Too bad I was still a student with a limited budget to buy what I wanted back then because there were some treasures launched in the 90's that have either been discontinued or are no longer available in their original formulation.
