| Introduction | In 2006 my friend Jonathan Ichabod Monroe willfully disappeared into the American Southwest and left behind only his car. One year later, while examining The Surface, I came across his duffel bag and camcorder. He had recorded himself, almost endlessly, since the inception of his personal exodus. I am piecing together his journey, and its startling conclusion, in the hopes that his story serves as a cautionary tale to those of us that would seek The Cavern without foresight and care.
