| Introduction | I am spending four months as a student in Hangzhou, China, a few hours away from Shanghai and described as a "quiet, medium sized city of 6.5 million people". Clearly this is an entirely different land. A land where freckles are seen as an unfortunate skin affliction, where the size 8 shoes are in the back room and are brought out by giggling storeclerks, a land with chopsticks and deep fried scorpions and a land where NO ONE is blonde. It should be an adventure, wish me luck! |
