| Introduction | Hi! Thanks for looking in. This is my "occasional" blog. Mostly I run OutYourBackDoor.com, a huge website for independent outdoor culture and affordable, sustainable "fresh air" living. A lot of OYB is based around my life and the year-round activities that I do to stay sane in my neighborhood---despite the cars, glowing screens, minimalls and stadiums. It's about a LOT of people's efforts to live an integrated life. I've been doing print OYB since 1991 and a website since 1994. OYB also includes philosophical and cultural artistic efforts. It's not your standard "outdoor sports and fitness" mag! OYB offers 1000+ free stories and reports; publishes books and magazines; resells books, dvds and cds for other indy outfits; has a forum and email list; and sells vintage luggage! It's "modern folkways" that the other general media and publishers (and luggage makers) just don't care about. It's cross-training for the brain! :) Please feel free to check it out. |
