| Introduction | I have pretty average expectations like "wouldn't it be nice if when I put the batteries in, the little clip bit didn't snap off" or "I paid £500 for that new bit of kit, so it would be nice if it didn’t break one day after the year warranty expires." It’s the simple things in life that keep me happy. I'm an Associate Director at AxiCom Cohn & Wolfe, where I run the consumer technology practice, so deal on a daily basis with companies trying to understand their customer. Over the years I've seen some great work behind the scenes, proving that some companies really do make an effort. But I've also seen businesses with a complete disconnect, and sadly I've all to often been the end customer involved.
