Introduction I am a part-time veterinarian and stay-at-home mom. I am just an average person who has struggled with weight and fitness on and off for much of my adult life. I'm embarking on a journey to lose weight and gain physical and emotional strength to accomplish more in my life. I am following Bill Phillip's "Body for Life" program. There are a lot of programs out there that work. I like this one because it emphasizes goal setting and a positive attitude and has a well defined work-out regimen that is easy to follow. I have an auto-immune disorder called Sjogren's Syndrome. While no-one has heard of it, it is the most common auto-immune disorder because it is often found secondary to more well known conditions such as lupus or MS. I have the primary form and my biggest issue has been battling fatigue. I've had to learn when I can push myself and when I can't in order to prevent a flare-up. This program is helping me to eat more healthy foods and build strength which can only help me manage my illness. Currently, it has been very well controlled with medication for 8 or 9 months, which is why I feel I can make it through this program now. Wish me luck and come along for the ride!
