| Introduction | Let's see, I'm a Wife, Mother, Sister, Friend, CHRISTIAN avid reader, and recently have started back dancing!!! Now, when I say "started back dancing" I have not danced in years(20 to be exact)So it is something new, but exciting! I can't describe the joy I get from cutting on some music and warming up with the 5-key steps in ballet and moving to African dance for a superior cardio workout.(I don't even think my closes friends knew/know I use to dance and how connected to liberal arts I am.) Anyway, my main purpose in starting this blog is to tract my level of fitness and dietary intake to prepare for my 2nd 5K run. It is scheduled for 3/26/11. I hope to drop 30lb and complete the run in under 40min. There are no words to accurately describe how running makes me feel, but I will summarize it with one word-BLISS. I was able to keep my weight down by training in the past and was in the best shape of my life. However, I gained about 30lbs since that time(due to personal circumstances) and have not committed to getting it off again(and keeping it off) until NOW! I hope to add pics to this blog along my way for comparison. So join me in my journey to better health, one step at a time. |
