| Introduction | After a lifetime in Minnesota, I was transported to Florida in 2008 to serve as an interim pastor. I am now called to St Mark's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Jacksonville, FL. This blog will chronicle my ministry there and the changes I experience. Pastoral philosophy: One of the side-effects of becoming an old Lutheran pastor (almost thirty years in ministry) is a growing skepticism of both church and secular culture. Additionally, after preaching and teaching all these years, I have developed a personal rule when approaching scripture: "If the preaching commentaries say it's so, it probably ain't." |
