| Introduction | Born in a hospital at a young age, Mace Avam spent the first 5 years of her life blind. In kindergarten she spent several months in the special education department before teachers realized her reading was at a 6th grade level. She was retracted from the program, but not soon enough to develop normal social skills, such as eye contact and anger management. Her attempts at popularity in 7th grade through starting a Burn Book, a la 'Mean Girls', were foiled by several concerned classmates. Her guidance counselors warned her mother to help her daughter find a more constructive creative outlet for her emotions. Here is the result, years later: a log of Mace Avam's current creative acheivements as she sits on the brink of normalcy, experiencing for the first time friends, popularity, and perhaps... romance? Yes, even that. But not a lot. The End. |
