| Introduction | Originally from Los Angeles, Lori moved to Las Vegas in 1983 where she cultivated a writing career and enjoyed the diversity of topics this desert oasis can provide. She wrote remotely for Best Friends Animal Society until the day came when she wanted to be in closer proximity to the place where she drew inspiration.
Lori's youth primed her for what would be an unexpected turn down the path of life; despite best efforts to have a career of intrigue as a courtroom stenographer, this was just not the calling that pawed at her heart. It became progressively clear – and was punctuated by having a story accepted in the first edition of Chicken Soup for the Pet Lover's Soul – that animal welfare is what beckoned. In the past 25 years, Lori has become vegan, founded a humane society that rescued abused and abandoned dogs on the Navajo Nation, and contributed to such publications as Ladies' Home Journal, Woman’s Day, Careers & Colleges, Dog Fancy, The Western Horse and American Kennel Gazette. Her company specializes in social media collaboration and editorial services. |
