Introduction Colin Hambrook is founder/ editor of disabilityartsonline.org.uk - a unique journal dedicated to showcasing the artistic practice of disabled artists/ writers and performers through blogs, reviews, and discussion. Over the last 18 years he has worked on a variety of web and print based publications as manager, editor, sub-editor and researcher. He has an ongoing personal and professional interest in disability representation, particularly with regard to mental health issues. As an Upstream commission produced by Dada-South as part of Accentuate, Hambrook produced an illustrated poetry collection / exhibition titled ‘100 Houses' in May 2010 for the Brighton Festival. Following on from this work he is working on a second exhibition / poetry collection 'Knitting Time: a journey through loss' to be launched in October 2013. This project will explore psychosis further, drawing on personal experience.
