| Introduction | I noticed the Rockabilly subculture a few years ago and have always thought the style was very uniquely fantastic. It wasn't until just recently that I experimented with it. It happened while I was trying to figure out something to do with my hair. I ended up pinning it up and it reminded me very much of the late 60's style. I decided to go from there and look up the style and the makeup. Rockabilly has been around for ages. The subculture has just been a continuation of the popularity and the interest in the lifestyle. Rockabilly was strongly influenced by Elvis Presley, Buddy Holly and Bill Haley. Movies like American Graffiti brought back the interest and curiousity of the genre. I like the Rockabilly style for a number of reasons. It's a classic Betti Page look. It certainly is flattering to more curvy women and the style is timeless. I have decided to challenge myself now. Today is day two of my delve into this style. I am going to TRY! to create a simple and easssssy style that will fit in with my everyday life and still be fashionable. This all being done cost effectively!!! |
