Introduction I am originally from Middle Tennessee. My wife and I have recently relocated to North Carolina. I am very laid back, with a sarcastic sense of humor that I use frequently. I enjoy playing sports, traveling, talking politics, and spending time with my family and friends. I currently teach economics and government at the South Carolina Governor's School for Science and Mathematics (SCGSSM) in Hartsville, South Carolina. I have completed coursework toward an Ed.D. in curriculum and instruction (teaching and learning) at Liberty University. I have degrees in political science and economics from Austin Peay State University. I have an MBA in economics from the University of Memphis and an Ed.S. from the University of Arkansas. I was deployed to Iraq with the U.S. Navy during Operation Iraqi Freedom in 2007-2008. I have run for political office in both 2010 and 2012. I am basically a libertarian on fiscal and economic issues and a conservative on social issues. I am pragmatic, and find government intervention, or meddling, is frequently a dismal failure and creates an array of negative unintended consequences, especially relative to the economy.
