| Introduction | A few years ago I never thought I'd be where I am today. In so many ways my life has been turned completely upside down-for the better. I'm independent (almost :-), successful in school (somewhat), and somewhere along the way I've found my backbone. I'm a nursing school student who had returned to school after taking a hiatus to raise my child. Nursing was always something I wanted to do but never really thought I had the talent or intelligence to pursue. In 2006 I returned to school, scared out of my mind, and found success in my first couple of classes. Before I knew it I surprised myself and did well in my sciences-something I loathed in high school. In the Fall of 2008 I began what has been the most challenging obstacle of my life-nursing school. It has its hard times but all in all I'm glad I decided to pursue nursing, it will definitely be worth all the stress, tears, and sleepless nights when May comes. Eventually, I think my niche in nursing will likely be peds or in a clinic setting in family practice-time will tell. My plans are to finish my ADN and immediately begin working on my BSN. |
