Introduction My name is Michelle, and when I started this blog I was at the beginning of a career change. After a successful decade-long career as a middle school English teacher, I decided to shift lanes and move into the world of publishing at the start of an industry-wide paradigm shift. Career number two had humble beginnings, where I spent about six months working as a bookseller in the children's and teen departments of my local Barnes & Noble. Then I scored a fabulous internship at a Literary Agency, which was the inspiration for this blog. Now I'm working as an independent contractor and freelance editor in NYC. I was born and raised on Long Island, in New York, and now live in Queens.
Interests Human Interaction [seems like a hobby these days], Roller Derby (Rebels...BOOM!), Ballet Dancing, Recreational play-sword-fighting, the dark art of figurative language called sarcasm, live rock shows, my Boston Terrier, action movies, SMOOTHIES, reading, writing, drawing (though I'm terrible at it), volunteer work.
Favorite Movies Hands down, my favorite movie of all time is The Princess Bride. I know just about every word, even some of it in Spanish, and own "The Totally Geeky Guide to the Princess Bride". Yea, that kinda favorite ;-)
Favorite Music This is too hard! I love so many different things. Today's playlist includes the Black Keys, some old-school D'Angelo.
Favorite Books Poison Study series by Maria V. Snyder, City of Bones series by Cassandra Clare, Forest of Hands and Teeth series by Carrie Ryan, Mercy Thompson series by Patricia Briggs

Ever wonder what would happen if George Jetson fell out of his car? Would he float? Sail off into the abyss of outer space? Plummet to his death?
