About me

Introduction	My name is Lisa Bakker, a stay-at-home mom living in scenic Crowsnest Pass, Alberta, Canada. I have always been a creative person and having no formal training as an artist, I stumbled into mixed media quite by accident. I was looking for ways to document my first child's milestones with scrapbooking and I never knew that a layout could be transformed into a piece of art! I was hooked and immediately set out to learn all I could. I’m inspired by nature as well as history. I love all things vintage, shabby chic, and grunge. When I’m not scrambling to carve a small portion of my days into something creative, I’m doing all that I can to provide a happy existence for my kids. This consists of playing outside, going on walks, throwing countless rocks and sticks into one of the many rivers and lakes that surround us, playdates with friends, camping, hiking, watching birds and squirrels, trains, planes, and helicopters fly by, and picking up and examining flowers, bugs, frogs, snakes (dead or alive), and other various pieces of nature. I’m happy to have a place where I can showcase my projects and I hope you’ll enjoy what I’ve created!
