About me

LocationDordogne, France
IntroductionI moved back to France in January 2012 after a gap of eight years being mainly back in England. I moved here with my partner “The Prof” and a very stubborn and rather ancient cat called Tomas. We also have a very sneaky black Labrador cross called Tilly whose main aim in life is to eat the cat’s food, the cat’s poo from the litter tray or the contents of the kitchen bin whenever she thinks you are otherwise distracted. After nearly forty year of work and commuting and thirty three continuous years of having children living at home suddenly we are retired and there is just me and the Prof. We have hours and hours of uncharted time with no punctuation marks such as the commute to work or the school run. Scary but exciting like the first blank page of that novel you always meant to write. This blog is about what we learn to do with that time. The quote is about that feeling that I have always had ever since I first came to France as a teenager that it was somehow home. And as for the sky our village has no street lights and somehow you are closer to the stars in the Dordogne.
