About me

Introduction I am a nursing student at the University of Washington. I started my long road to this career path in electrical engineering, dropped out of that to work in the non-profit world for about 15 years, and then through various adventures ended up here. I was a later than last minute admission to the accelerated Masters program at UW, and am now in the Adult Nurse Practitioner - Infectious Disease focal area. My most recent interest has been understanding the synergy between HIV and TB, and how HIV has changed the landscape of both active TB disease and LTBI. My background in engineering (and database administration at my last real job) has given me insight into the patterns of disease that I have found helpful in researching these diseases.
