Introduction I am a dedicated fig HUNTER and researcher. Rather than write a book on my fig activities, I will BLOG instead....to reach a much larger audience. The purpose of this blog is primarily to provide relevant information about the various fig varieties that I grow here in South Louisiana. My posts can be useful to those people who desire to know the fruiting characteristics of some of the rarer fig varieties. Much of this information simply cannot be obtained from any retail or wholesale nursery. Most residents of South Louisiana do not know that they can significantly prolong their fig season beyond that of their regular Celeste fig tree. From these posts they can learn that; by choosing the right fig varieties, it is quite possible to have fresh figs over a 6 to 7 month extended season. This makes South Louisiana very unique and a virtual Fig Paradise for those of us who love eating fresh figs!! Follow my Blog if you are interested in learning more about those lesser known fig varieties and their fruiting characteristics and overall performance in a hot, humid, and often rainy climate.
