Introduction | Therese currently resides in Newark, New Jersey where she’s balances single life in the city with her work as Executive Chef of Get Em’ Girls Catering, forrd editor of getemgirls.com, and organizing Blackculinaryhistory.org, a non-profit program dedicated to connecting this generation’s minority culinary student with our past in a substantive and inspirational way. |
Interests | My interest are pretty varied and boil down to beauty and brilliance in whatever form they come in be it food, music, film, books, poetry or politics. |
Favorite Movies | The color purple (classic), planes trains and automobiles (hilarious), That touch of Mink, any Rock Hudson - Dorris Day extravaganza, Sabrina (both versions), Love affair and an Affair to remember(the carey grant debra kerr version), possibly every carey grant film especially the ones with him and myrna Loy, Speaking of myrna Loy all the Thin man movies, Malcolm X, Carmen Jones (Dorthy Dandrige was amazing), Suddenly last summer, The Fugitive, Magnificent Obsession, Most of Lana Turner's work especially Imitation of life which may be my favorite film ever, and lots others. |
Favorite Music | Anything Jill Scott, John Legend, Aretha Franklin, India.Aire, or Dave Mathews sings is brilliant. I also dig the Dixie Chicks, Michael Buble, Bond and lots others. |
Favorite Books | Culture of Fear, Great Expectations, The Cornell West Reader, Pride and Prejudice, Lies and the lying liars who tell them, Democracy matters, Race matters, nearly everything bell hooks ever wrote, and many more |
Why does the color blue mean raspberry-flavored?
I know right? I have no clue I think its probably because the color red means cherry.
