| Introduction | Lisa Rappaport is the Spiritual Leader of Congregation Beth Israel, in Chico, CA. Lisa was the Rabbinic Intern and an active lay leader at Congregation Netivot Shalom in Berkeley, CA. She holds a B.A. in Psychology, an M.A. in Transpersonal Counseling Psychology, and is a Rabbinical student in the Aleph Ordination Program. She has nearly 30 years combined experience as an educator, counselor, administrator, and spiritual leader in both Jewish and Secular settings. As a writer, Lisa’s genre is creative writing with a particular emphasis on poetry. She especially enjoys writing haiku and chaiku (Jewish themed haiku, with an additional syllable, for a total of 18). Her poems have appeared in two anthologies published by Rabbis Against Gun Violence, Not by Might and Holding Fast. She lives in Chico with her brilliantly hilarious husband and two dynamic teenaged daughters. |
