Introduction .In the 1980's, fascinated by lost civilizations, I embarked on the first volume of my "Grey Isles” bronze age trilogy, Journey to Aprilioth. That book, and the next two in the series, Songs from the Drowned Lands and The Sarsen Witch ( reissued by Juno Books), were published by Ace Books. My first young adult fantasy, Dance of the Snow Dragon, set in 18th century Bhutan, was followed by The Snow Queen, which explored echoes of northern shamanism and the Kalevala in in Andersen's classic tale, and The Alchemist's Daughter, set in Elizabethan England. Winter on the Plain of Ghosts: a novel of Mohenjo-daro,is an adult fantasy about the prehistoric Indus Valley civilization. My latest books are Wild Talent: a Novel of the Supernatural, set in Victorian London and fin de siècle Paris; a speculative poetry collection, Tales from the Holograph Woods and.Sophie, in Shadow, a novel of British India, 1914.
