Introduction Most of the artworks involve a critical approach to text in which I deal with thoughts on the semiotics of ideology and the politics of cultural production. I approach art with a notion of 'writing'. The individual’s mark, recording, or choice, and the readable gesture that may result. This mutually subsumes the question of reading, and the work is informed by an idea of the two practices as sequentially synonymous. I aim to reflect on the difficulties of those writing and reading practices uncontained by document formats, stanzas or academic rigor. The use of images is in a sense more common to the eye than those of any traditional literary or narrative form such as painting or illustration. These storyless phrases are not punctuated by periods, they exist within an infinite ellipsis. They are usually unattributable to a speaker and support no metaphor in the images. Works spring up, degrade and are wiped away, obstruct the signs of commerce and interfere with the symbolic ordering of the urban environment. They represent, a nonconclusive, forever unresolved returning of text, and the feeling that nothing can ever fully be said, that no argument can ever end.
