Introduction	My name is Lauren, and I am currently a 16 year old junior in high school. As someone who has suffered from severe food allergies to peanuts and other legumes, I jumped at the chance to be a part of an experimental treatment through Stanford Alliance for Food Allergy Research headed by Kari Nadeau MD, PhD (www.foodallergies.stanford.edu). This blog is dedicated to my experiences throughout this desensitization therapy. I am also currently raising money for two causes that have truly changed my life. The first is to raise money for Epi Pens for children who cannot afford them. The second is to raise money for Xolair- an anti- IgE blocker that has been key in the SAFAR study I am participating in.
