About me

Introduction Pyrenean Shepherds are a hardy small herding breed from the French side of the Pyrenees. They: are fun, brave, smart, love to learn, love to please; easy to please if you include LOTS of exercise (and no, taking them on a walk is not exercise) and mental activities. They should display the maximum of energy at a minimum size. They are easy to groom: you hardly have to do anything - just brush them a little every now and then and keep the nails short, especially the (double) dew claws, if they have them. Pyr Sheps do not usuallay take to strangers - but there are always exceptions, I guess. Aluna is not one of them :) Their cousins on the Spanish side are the Gos d'Atura. The Tibetan Terrier (which is not actually a terrier), the Old German Sheep-Poodle (Schafpudel), the Italian Bergamasco, the Polish PON (or can you say "Polski Owczarek Nizinny"?) and the Hungarian Puli may all be somehow related.
