| Introduction | Teaching English at Modesto Junior College doesn't leave much time for the activities that got me here -- reading, writing and research. I like the Central Valley--the orchards, the waterways, the people. |
| Interests | I spend all my time (when I'm not working) with my little girl...there's nothing else I'd rather do. |
| Favorite movies | Too many to name...recent favorites are Tarnation, Fog of War, American Movie, and The Business of Fancy Dancing. I like documentaries wich are obscure almost by definition, though they are becoming less so. |
| Favorite music | I grew up on the Beatles, Paul Simon, Neil Young, Willie Nelson, Emylou Harris...I still like those but I like tones of other stuff...Ryan Adams, Richard Buckner, Marisa Monte, and bad 70s music. |
| Favorite books | Angle of Repose--really anything by Wallace Stegner, Bright Web in the Darkness by Alexander Saxton, Reservation Blues--and anything else by Sherman Alexie, The Morning hte SUn Went Down by Daryl Babe Wilson...that's really skimming the surface |
