| Introduction | I find inspiration in raw materials and great scrap finds. It is not often I find myself designing a conceptual object before going to find materials, it is usually in reverse: I find the materials I am inspired by and design around them. Some of my top inspirational spots, the churches of my design, are the following: SCRAP in Northeast Portland, Junkyards, Thrift stores of any kind, antique stores, yard sales, and the Home Depot. If it's a Saturday or Sunday chances are you will find me at one of these places, strolling the aisles with a cup of coffee in hand, justifying another $10 - $20 purchase and wondering how I will store one more project at my tiny apartment. |
