| Interests | I think of myself as a Constitutionalist. I truly believe that the Founding Fathers were brilliant. I think they got it just right in the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution. In the areas they may have erred, they developed a perfect solution in the amendment process. I think these documents offer the best hope for people of all incomes and classes to prosper. I think the idea of basic human rights, liberty, and protections from the tyranny of the majority have lead to America’s unprecedented prosperity. These ideas are the fundamental reason we see people in a constant and persistent climb up the economic ladder in America. The more the government infringes on our liberties, the more we accept government provided security in exchange for our personal freedom the further we get from what makes our country great. Like the riders in April 1775, I am trying to carry a warning. Not of invading armies, a warning of a slow trickle of never-ending federal control, control that is slowly robbing us of our ability and our will to continue the economic prosperity that has been the beacon of hope for the world. History proves out my beliefs. The question is, can we learn from it? |
