| Introduction | Currenly living in Los Angeles and attending the University of Southern California (USC), I was born and raised in the West Texas town of El Paso, the home of your UTEP Miners. I love my USC Trojans but I'm forever loyal to my hometown Miners. I've been following UTEP sports for as long as I can remember. My first memory was when the basketball team, led by Point Guard Eddie Rivera, advanced to the Sweet 16 of the 1992 NCAA Tournament after upsetting top seeded Kansas. My fondest and most dearest memory was back in 2004 when the Miners made it back to the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 1992. I can remember the anxiety as UTEP faithful and the players, who watched the CBS Selection Show at Coach Billy Gillispie's house, roared with glee after being one of the last team's named to the field. I'm looking forward to many more memories in both football and basketball. Go Miners!! |
