| Introduction | I am a 35 yr old mother of three gorgeous boys. Just 13 days after having my third son, I suffered multiple heart attacks was diagnosed with SCAD and required bypass surgery with 6 grafts. SCAD spontaneous coronary artery dissection is a rare or should I say, under diagnosed and little known about heart condition. The coronary arteris are made up of multiple layers, SCAD happens when one of the layers tears or splits and either causes a blockage in the artery or lets blood pool in between the layers. Diagnosis of SCAD is done through an angiogram. This condition usually affects women and can happen at the last stage of pregnancy or in the weeks that follow. Not many people know of this condition. |
